That is the single question that launched this website.

Welcome to The Blogspot Experiment. My name is Sagar, and I created this site with a very specific mission: to publicly test whether a free Blogspot (Blogger.com) blog can still rank on Google and generate income in 2025 and 2026.

The Story

If you look for advice on starting a blog today, the "gurus" will all tell you the same thing:

  • "Don't use a free platform."

  • "You need a custom domain."

  • "You need paid hosting."

  • "Blogspot is a relic of the past."

But is that actually true? Or is it just advice designed to sell you hosting plans and expensive courses?

I decided to stop guessing and start testing. In October 2025, I launched theblogspotexperiment.blogspot.com from absolute zero. No budget, no existing audience, and no paid tools.

Our Mission

This blog serves as a living case study. I am documenting every step of the journey—the technical setup, the SEO strategies, the content writing, and the traffic stats—completely in public.

My goals are to:

  1. Rank on Page 1 of Google for competitive keywords using a free .blogspot.com subdomain.

  2. Monetize the blog using Google AdSense and other methods to see if a "free" side hustle is still viable.

  3. Provide a transparent roadmap for anyone else who wants to start a blog without spending money.

 Hey everyone, welcome back to the Blogspot Experiment. This update, for November 9th, is a little later than I usually plan, but it's a big one. This is the update where "action" starts to meet "patience." In my last posts, I was focused on getting the blog set up and indexed by Google. Now, the real work has begun.
